These treats are great healthier alternatives to store-bought candy. The main ingredient in both of these recipes is cocoa butter, which is a plant-based superfood. They are free of refined sugar, sweetened only with honey.
All that is required is a few simple ingredients and some fun shaped silicone molds.
PEPPERMINT CHOCOLATES
Ingredients:
4oz cocoa butter
1/2 cup honey
2 Tbsp cashew butter
1 Tbsp vanilla
1 Tsp cocoa powder (omit for SCD)
1/2 tsp salt
5 drops of pure therapeutic grade peppermint essential oil or peppermint extract.
PEANUT BUTTER BITES
Ingredients:
4 oz cocoa butter
1/2 cup honey
3 tbsp peanut butter
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
Follow these DIRECTIONS for both recipes:
1. Melt the cocoa butter in a saucepan on the lowest heat until it is fully liquified.
2. Whisk in the rest of the ingredients until fully incorporated.
3. Transfer mixture into a glass vessel with a pour spout.
4. Arrange silicone molds on a baking tray for ease of transfer.
5. Pour mixture into molds and freeze for at least an hour.
6. Once frozen, pop candies out of molds. Keep frozen in a freezer safe container. Thaw for 5 minutes then enjoy!
