Watermelon Refresher: Nature's Perfect Electrolyte Drink

Did you know that nature gives us the perfect natural electrolytes to help replenish us during the hot summer months? 


For me, it’s a BIG no thank you to the exorbitant amounts of sugar and artificial coloring and flavoring in Gatorade and other popular electrolyte drinks on the market. 


Those ingredients are more harmful than helpful. Instead of making you more hydrated, it is making you inflamed and throwing your body into a state of stress because it does not recognize these ingredients. Stop falling for the marketing claims and use REAL FOOD instead! 


All you need are a few simple real ingredients to make the best homemade electrolyte drink (or popsicle!) you and your kids will love! 



🍉Watermelon - A hydrating fruit with high levels of potassium, magnesium and vitamin C to support your muscles, nervous and immune system.


🥥Coconut Water - A natural rehydration drink, rich in potassium, magnesium, and sodium.


🍋‍🟩Lime juice- contains potassium and immune boosting vitamin C 


🍃 Mint - because watermelon and mint are the best combo! 


🧂Himalayan Pink Sea salt - a high quality salt (not table salt) helps create an electrolyte balance since it’s one of the most important electrolytes in our body! 


Combine about 5 cups of watermelon chunks, 1 cup coconut water, 1/3 cup lime juice, 6 mint leaves and a good dash of salt in a blender and blend until smooth. 


Makes 6 cups of drink or about 8-10 popsicles, depending on size of mold. 


Options:

✅ Pour over ice for a refreshing drink 

✅Add ice in the blender for a slushie

✅Pour in popsicle molds for a frozen treat
